Hello folks, up for sale
today is a super mint factory original digital ETR AM/FM stereo radio with
auto-reverse cassette tape player and clock, that was taken out of a 1986
Chevrolet Blazer. If you are restoring your classic early to mid third
generation F-Body muscle car to a 100 point show car with exceptional details,
exact originality, and show quality, then this radio is just what you are
looking for. This radio was GM RPO option code UM6 and was an expensive $354.00
upgrade stereo system option for the 1986-1992 Chevrolet Blazer & S10, GMC
Jimmy & Sonoma, 1991 & 1992 Oldsmobile Bravada, as well as the 1991 GMC
Syclone & 1992 GMC Typhoon. Please note that although this radio was
removed from a newer Chevrolet model, this radio will fit and work 100% perfectly
into the 1982-1988 Chevrolet Camaro, Z28, Berlinetta, RS, LT, & IROC-Z,
considering it is the identical radio to those models as well both functionally
and connectivity-wise. This radio will also fit and work perfectly into many
other GM cars and trucks from the mid 1980's throughout the early 1990's as
well. This radio is in super mint, 100% working condition. The radio was cleaned
inside and out, adjusted and lubed. I have tested the radio and it works very
well by picking up many stations on both the FM & AM frequencies. When the
stereo receives a FM stereo broadcast, the "Stereo" indicator lights
up brightly in a light greenish color. The pushbuttons also work very well and
push in very easily, and for storing and recalling the set stations. The stereo
also has the SEEK/SCAN features built in. The SEEK feature allows the radio to
pick the next best received station without turning the knob. The SCAN feature
will do it automatically, staying on each station for five seconds before
moving to the next. The "SCAN" indicator will light up for whenever
the stereo is in SCAN mode. The vacuum florescent digital readout is in
excellent working condition, with no parts of the characters of the numerals
are burned out or dull, and have a very nice light greenish color. The stereo
is also equipped with a digital clock that displays when the key is turned on
and when the radio is off, or after five seconds after tuning in a station. I
had the clock hooked up for a couple of hours, and it kept perfect time The cassette tape player also works perfectly. I tested three cassette tapes
and they all played extremely well. The tapes play very clear with no sound
distortions or garble. The capstans and head were cleaned, and the speed of the
tape was correctly adjusted. The fast forward and reverse switches also works
very well, with a quick and quiet motion. There is a brand new rubber belt that
was just installed to give you many years of future usage. The tape inserts and
ejects nicely. The auto reverse feature also works correctly, with pushing in
the top knob automatically plays the other side of the tape; the tape will also
switch sides automatically when it is finished playing on one side. The correct
tape LED light comes on for whichever direction the cassette tape is playing. The treble and bass controls also work 100% correctly and slide very easily,
and allows you to fine tune the sound to your satisfaction. The DNR or
"Dynamic Noise Reduction" also works perfectly, and removes any hiss
or unwanted sound during the radio or cassette player operation. All four
speaker channel outputs produce clear and strong sound output with no outside
noise or distortion. There are many brand new high quality Nichicon capacitors
that were installed onto all of the various circuit boards inside the radio to
give the best possible performance. This stereo will work with any two, three,
or four speaker system, and will also work with a power antenna if so equipped.
There are three brand new illumination light bulbs that were recently installed,
and light up the entire faceplate brightly and evenly in a light greenish
color. Please click the picture of the radio being illuminated in the dark to
view for yourself. Cosmetically the stereo is
in super mint condition, as it looks close to new and can be easily installed
into a show or museum car. All of the black buttons have an excellent black
color with no chips, marks, or heavy scratches. The faceplate is also in super
mint condition as it has a very nice black matte finish with no scratches,
marks, or fading. there is a slight wear mark just above the "SEEK"
button, but this is very hard to see and not very noticeable at all. Despite
this however, the radio still presents itself beautifully. The digital display
lens cover is clear with no scratches or marks. The original decal tags are
still attached to the top and side of the radio chassis, and look nearly
perfect. The factory GM part # for this radio is 16041341, which was later
superseded to the GM part #s of 16066325 & 16131345. The correct original
all black outer and inner knobs are included, and are also in super mint
condition. For an additional $25, I will also include the correct electrical harness plugs
that connect to the back of the radio; however the winning buyer must contact
me when the listing ends as it is available at your request. Also for an
additional $50, I will install an externally mounted auxiliary jack that will
allow any device such as an Apple iPhone or Android smartphone to be played directly
through this radio and output to the speakers; please let me know if you're
also interested in having this done as well. This original Delco GM radio is 100% factory correct for the 1986-1992
Chevrolet Blazer & S10, GMC Jimmy & Sonoma, 1991 & 1992 Oldsmobile
Bravada, as well as the 1991 GMC Syclone & 1992 GMC Typhoon. Again please
note that although this radio was removed from a newer Chevrolet model, this
radio will fit and work 100% perfectly into the 1982-1988 Chevrolet Camaro,
Z28, Berlinetta, RS, LT, & IROC-Z, considering it is the identical radio to
those models as well both functionally and connectivity-wise. This radio will
also fit and work perfectly into the 1982-1988 Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am,
& GTA, 1984-1988 Pontiac Fiero, 1984-1987 Buick Regal, T-Type, Grand
National, and the 1987 Buick GNX, 1984-1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass, Brougham, 442,
& Hurst Olds, 1986-1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, LS, & El Camino,
1986-1988 GMC Caballero, 1985-1987 Pontiac Grand Prix, 1986 Pontiac 2+2,
1984-1989 Chevrolet Corvette, and the 1989-1991 Chevrolet and GMC Squarebody
Pickups, K5 Blazer, GMC Jimmy, and Suburban. This radio will also fit and work
perfectly into many other GM cars and trucks from the mid 1980's throughout the
early 1990's as well that use the older large electrical harness plug
connectors in the back of the radio. **** Also for a similar fee, I can completely restore your factory original
Delco GM radio back to 100% working condition as well. Additionally, if you're
looking for a specific Delco GM radio model that I do not have currently listed
here on eBay, you're more than welcome to contact myself at any time,
preferably by emailing me directly at delcomaster84@gmail dot com, or as a
second option to send me a message through here on eBay, as I will look through
my storage and see if I have exactly what you are looking for.**** Having an original factory radio installed will not only rise the value of the
car, but it will also score extra points when being judged at a show. These
older factory original Delco GM radios are becoming very hard to find,
especially in this super mint condition, so if you are looking to upgrade your
original radio to this digital ETR AM/FM cassette stereo, wishing to convert
back to a factory Delco GM setup, or looking for a radio for an older hot rod,
rat rod, or custom, here's your chance to grab a real show quality radio. This
stereo will be shipped with USPS 2-3 Day Priority Mail, and can also be shipped
worldwide using the USPS International Priority Mail service. If you have any
questions about the stereo, you're more than welcome to ask. Thank you for your
interest and good luck. It is up to
the responsibility of the buyer and/or installation technician to ensure that
this radio is to be installed correctly. This radio needs to be connected to
either an 8 or 10 ohm speaker on each speaker output, or to a total of 8 or 10
ohms using two components (such as a tweeter and midrange, etc.). Failure to
connect this radio to the correct ohm rating speaker, or connecting this radio
to speakers that are shorted or wired incorrectly, or to speakers that use
direct chassis ground, will instantly destroy the audio output ICs causing a no
sound issue. Once the radio leaves my ownership, I am no longer responsible if
a problem should occur. Thank you for your understanding.
